You would be hard pressed to find a woman who doesn't like to shop. Conversely, one rarely finds a man who adores the sport of shopping. Although you will probably not be able to visit all of your lover's favorite shops in one day, many towns and cities have strips or whole streets dedicated to housing boutiques and shops. For some women the atmosphere created by a quaint street lined with individually owned shops is the quintessential place to browse for unique items. For others, a shopping venue with a wide array of shops allows for unlimited choices. Outlet malls make for a practical shopping arena since they offer an assortment of shops and generally have lower priced items. Shopping centers or malls may appeal to some women as well.
What about the Benjamins?
Perhaps the trickiest part of this gift idea is planning how much money to spend. It is imperative that you not dictate a spending limit to your sweetheart. It may be best to imply a guideline such as stating, "I want you to find a couple of outfits", or "One outfit and a little something special is what I had in mind." I guess the key is to use a little tact when broaching this delicate subject.
A Girl's Gotta Eat
If you have ever shopped for any duration of time, you have probably noticed that it takes a lot of energy. To make your girl's day of shopping even better, plan ahead and make lunch reservations at a nice restaurant. You do not have to book ahead at the fanciest restaurant in town, but just let her know around lunch time that you have plans to take her to eat, so she can refuel in order to finish out her day of spending. Trust me. She will not turn you down.
Be an Active Participant
While a large portion of this gift includes the fact that you will be shopping with your mate for the day, you will make her heart leap if you actually partake in the activities. You know that your girl has probably acted interested in a football game or a similar hobby of yours just because she wants you to know that she is interested in what you enjoy doing. It is only fair if you return the favor here. While you are out, make suggestions. Be holding a shirt as she walks out of the dressing room and tell her it is perfect for her. Just be sure you don't grab sizes that would offend her.
Make Her a Runway Model
When you return home from your day of shopping, ask your sweetheart to model the clothes she purchased. It will give you the opportunity to shower her with compliments. Who knows? The show may even be cut short if your romantic side kicks into gear.
Plan for the Future
The perfect romantic will already have an idea for future plans for your lover. Tell her that the new dress will be perfect for when you take her dancing next weekend. Tell her that her new shirt would be perfect for her to wear to the play or musical for which you intend to buy tickets. Let her know you are excited when you see her clothed in her new items.
