Sometimes where you put the gift is as important, if not more important, than what's inside the box. She works so very hard to keep your home ... surprise her by placing a gift on top of the washing machine, in the dishwasher, or inside a pot or cabinet. By acknowledging how hard she works with a nice gift in a "work related" location, she will know that you notice all she does and appreciate it.
Think about her
Think about all the things that she does to keep your home clean and organized. (doing dishes, washing and folding laundry, making beds, mopping floors, picking up toys/clothes, wiping countertops, buying groceries, and keeping track of everyone's schedule) These things often go unnoticed (or at least, we as women think that they do) Pick the three you know she dislikes the most, and leave her sweet thank you notes at each. Leave the notes in places that she will find them while doing that particular task. You can spread them out over the course of a few days, or leave them all for her to find in one day. Either way, this will make her feel loved, valued, and appreciated.
Pick the biggie
Every woman has a least favorite task. Whichever task is the one she grumbles about the most, is the best location for the actual gift. After she has seen the notes of appreciation, this gift will be the icing on the cake. She will be thrilled that you listened to her grumbling and wanted to let her know how much she was appreciated. Leave the gift and wait for the response. Trust me, she will thank you.
Choosing a gift
The gift you choose to leave in a work related place needs to be something thoughtful. Maybe it's a necklace that she has been admiring for some time, or maybe it's a gift certificate to a spa so that she can pamper herself, or maybe it's a new outfit so that she can feel like Cinderella at the ball instead of the Cinderella who mops floors and watches everyone else go to the ball. Listen to her deepest desires, and act on them. It doesn't have to be an expensive gift. It is more important that the gift be a thoughtful one.
Holiday or not
This gift giving idea does not have to be linked to a specific holiday, since we all know that gifts for no reason at all mean the most, but this idea lends itself to holidays as well. It would work well for Valentineâs Day or an anniversary, since it shows that you love and appreciate all she does, especially on special days.
